Hi, I just brought the OLT1830 from Bunnings few days ago, the trim line just keeps coming out longer and longer, it won't cut off by the blade ( sticky tape on the cutting blade has been removed)so any way to stop the auto feed? Please help.

I have the same problem, any help would be great. I know the manual says if you release the on/off trigger and lock out trigger at the same time it auto feeds a 1/4 inch of line but I'm only releasing the on/off trigger.
I have only used this once or twice and it's not working at all ,I thought it was the charger so I purchased a new one,but it still isn't working, how could I tell if it's the battery or strimmer that's not working ? Thanks

Check & charge your battery, all failing return it
Two possibilities -
1 the battery needs recharging - either recharge or replace the battery with a fully charged one.

With battery fully charged as indicated by the green lights...the trimmer will not operate when trigger is squeezed. Just all of a sudden, would not work. Last used a week ago. No problems at that time. Any chance the trigger is defective?
how to load line on to trimmer?

You buy another replacement spool. Just pop the old one off and the new one on. You could pull the spool apart and just replace the line (it comes apart easy) but I haven't done this myself.
I have just rewound new cutting line, following the instructions. However, the line does not last long; I have to stop cutting, removed the bty, then manually lengthen the line, then start cutting again.
On the line spool, there are two sets of slots which I would assume are used to secure the line? Help please; Unable to use the line trimmer. Thanks
When the switch is released the automatic line feed is feeding out about 25mm of line. This seems too much as the line is being used too rapidly. Is this the way it is meant to work? Or is there a way of adjusting the amount of feed or perhaps disengaging the line feed?

I had a new one but before I replaced it I had to clean some cut grass away a a small spring fell out of the part where the spool goes but I don't know where it came from to replace it. Any ideas please??? thanks.

Read more (5Ah) is a dud and is failing after just two years (outside the 2 yr warranty). When I use the old 4Ah battery(that I had to buy 4 yrs ago to replace a dud 1.4Ah battery that came with a blower) it spins the trimmer at a higher speed and it works fine. So, I figure that Ryobi puts their reject batteries into their packages such as line trimmers/shears/blowers/etc and keeps the batteries that pass their certification as separate sale items at higher prices (eg $150 for a new 5Ah batt as opposed to a package of trimmer, 5Ah batt and charger for $229). So if your line is not auto feeding then try using it with a good battery not the one that came in the package.
